The Circumference

The mining town of Røros was included on the list of World Heritage Sites in 1980. In 2010 the World Heritage area was extended to include cultural monuments and landscapes outside of the town. Although the extension of the world heritage area is geographically defined to specific areas, the whole of the Circumference is an area of significant importance to the World Heritage.
